Country Rock Damage and Another Day
So, I've been listening obsessively to 'Hot Burrito #2' and I still hate Country Rock, but I love the melody to this song and nothing I've heard (including Dinosaur Jr's awful hipster rendition) comes close to how beautiful the original is. On another note, I'm on day three without sugar and I felt great this morning. I'm finally starting to really dig what the black militants have been saying for years, "Fuck the White Devil!"

totally relate to the country rock issue. But something about Burrito 2 is so oddly haunting. I remember how hated the hippie were by the country folks and the urbanites, and this is one of those pieces of music that brings them all into the room together like a fondue party. It's so distinctive you can smell it. I can feel the substances they were using in the fine threads that pull it together. There should be a law against those oversimplified Lego cover versions. This number is sacred.
